GLIAC publicizes swimmers and divers of the week

GLIAC — The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has introduced its weekly awards following the primary week of competitors of the 2025-26 swimming & diving season. Earning recognition had been Grand Valley State’s Raul Briceno (males’s swimming), Elliott McAlpine (ladies’s swimming) and Emi Goto (ladies’s diving) and Wayne State’s Max Wasiniak (males’s diving). 

MEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Raul Briceno, Grand Valley State

Raul Briceno was named Swimmer of the Week for the primary time this season. He positioned second within the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:39.45. Briceno touched the wall at 4:29.09 within the 500 freestyle to take first place for the Lakers. Max Wasiniak (Huron, Ohio) was named GLIAC Diver of the Week for the fourth time in his profession on Tuesday. Competing for the primary time this season on Saturday as a part of Wayne State’s inaugural Detroit Diving Classic, Wasiniak received at each the one-meter peak and three-meter board (11 dives every) due to ultimate scores of 475.30 and 489.35, respectively.
