Autumn 2025: the images exhibitions to not be missed in Italy

Autumn in Milan lights up with Man Ray: the main exhibition at Palazzo Reale, Man Ray. Forms of Light, brings collectively nearly 300 works by the good genius of surrealism. Curated by Pierre-Yves Butzbach and Robert Rocca, the exhibition traces the artistic universe of Emmanuel Radnitsky, aka Man Ray— the grasp who remodeled images into pure artwork. Original prints, collages, drawings, sculptures, movies, and ready-mades recount a profession spanning Paris and New York, Dada and Surrealism, in dialogue with Duchamp, Éluard, Tzara, and Aragon. Alongside the well-known Noire et blanche and Le Violon d’Ingres, the exhibition explores technical innovations—rayographs and solarizations—and his contribution to vogue, with names comparable to Schiaparelli, Poiret, and Chanel. Muses and companions, from Kiki de Montparnasse to Lee Miller, animate a journey that intertwines artwork, need, and experimentation. Each picture turns into a metamorphosis of actuality, an alchemy between type and lightweight, testimony to a radically trendy and boundless thought of artwork.
