Georgina Bell Named Missouri Valley Conference Ladies’s Swimmer of the Week

CHICAGO – The Missouri Valley Conference introduced its weekly award winners Tuesday afternoon, and sophomore Georgina Bell earned MVC Women’s Swimmer of the Week honors after her sturdy efficiency towards Illinois State.
 
Bell was dominant for the Flames towards Illinois State, tallying 4 wins over the course of the meet within the 100 backstroke (57.33), 200 backstroke (2:03.49), 200 freestyle relay (1:35.51) and 400 medley relay (3:53.68) serving to lead UIC to a 221-78 win over the Redbirds. Bell’s occasions in each the 100 and 200 backstroke rank within the top-five of the MVC.
 
This is the second weekly award of Bell’s profession and first Women’s Swimmer of the Week accolade. Last season she earned MVC Women’s Freshman of the Week honors on Jan. 29.
 
Bell is the fourth Flame to earn MVC weekly recognition this season, becoming a member of Harrison Nolan (Men’s Diver of the Week – Oct. 15), Kerry-Leigh Morrison (Women’s Diver of the Week – Oct. 15) and Jay Stewart (Men’s Swimmer of the Week – Oct. 15).
