IU INDY SWIMMING & DIVING TO HEADING TO CHICAGO

INDIANAPOLIS- The IU Indy swim and dive group will journey to Chicago, Illinois, on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 11:00 AM to tackle the Flames of UIC.

The Jags final weekend dominated the competitors, defeating Evansville, Southern Indiana and Valparaiso, and with these victories, three Jaguars had been awarded Horizon League Athlete of the Week awards. 

Sophomore Addy Hirsbrunner earned her second Swimmer of the Week award of the 12 months with two particular person wins and a relay win. She took first place within the 500 free and secured the highest spot within the 400 IM, additionally contributing to the group’s win within the 400 medley relay.  

Graduate scholar Alaina Heyde earned her first Diver of the Week award this season, sweeping the ladies’s diving competitors. She took first within the 1-meter and completed first within the 3-meter. Senior Sebastian Otero earned his fourth Diver of the Week this season after sweeping the lads’s diving occasions. He earned first within the one-meter and first within the 3-meter. Otero has now earned 22 Diver of the Week awards.  

For UIC, sophomore Georgina Bell was awarded MVC Women’s Swimmer of the Week for her 4 wins within the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke, 200 freestyle relay and the 400 medley relay. She ranks within the high 5 within the Missouri Valley Conference within the 100 and 200 backstroke.

The IU Indy males’s and ladies’s groups every have earned six wins on the season and intention to make it seven this weekend. Saturday’s meet will begin at 11:00 AM contained in the Flames Natatorium.
