New Exhibition from Photographer Arlene Vidor at Ace/121 Gallery

Glendale Arts introduced the opening of Arlene Vidor: Photography, a solo exhibition on view at ace/121 Gallery from Oct. 25 by Nov. 22. A public opening reception can be held on Saturday, Oct. 25  from 6 p.m. to eight p.m., providing guests the chance to satisfy the artist and discover her physique of labor that celebrates – and wrestles with – the layered landscapes of Los Angeles.

In Arlene Vidor: Photography, the artist goals her eye on the assorted and colliding scapes of Southern California – a spot she describes as “unfinished, grand, decayed, and beautiful.” Trained on the structure, juxtapositions and unintended abstractions that outline city and suburban life, Vidor’s images and digital collages reveal the poetry and rhythms within the on a regular basis.

From palm timber standing sentry earlier than trendy facades to the stress between open land and constructed kind, her work typically explores what she calls “visual ear worms” – photos that linger and loop in her thoughts. In Vidor’s course of, images develop into discovered objects, fragments of visible particles which are digitally manipulated, layered, and reassembled into compositions that shock each artist and viewer.

In addition to her civic management and pictures work, Vidor is a violinist with the Cantabile Chamber Players. She holds a level in biology and previously served as vice chairman of Regulatory Affairs at Baxter BioScience earlier than dedicating her life to group engagement and the humanities.

ace/121 Gallery is operated by Glendale Arts and situated at 121 N. Kenwood St. in Glendale. The gallery is open Wednesday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to five p.m.
