Through Our Lens – Celebrating 25 Years of AU-EU Partnership – #AUEU25

The European Union (EU) Delegation to the African Union and the African Union Commission (AUC) invite you to take part within the “#AUEU25 Through Our Lens” Photography Competition as a part of the year-long celebration marking 25 years of the AU-EU distinctive partnership. This milestone 12 months culminates with the seventh AU-EU Summit happening in Luanda, Angola (November 24-25, 2025).

CAPTURE THE PARTNERSHIP’S IMPACT

Over the previous 25 years, the AU-EU Partnership has yielded quite a few accomplishments throughout each continents. From sustainable financial growth initiatives to instructional exchanges, technological innovation to local weather motion and power transition, this collaboration has delivered concrete outcomes which have meaningfully improved lives in each continents.

We invite photographers to doc visible tales that replicate this partnership’s tangible impression by means of their distinctive perspective. 

COMPETITION HIGHLIGHTS

• Free Entry: No participation price

• International Exposure: 25 finalists featured in exhibitions, in Addis Ababa (and presumably in Brussels)

• Digital Publication: Selected works included in a particular digital showcase to be shared with EU and AU missions everywhere in the world

• Broad Promotion: Visibility throughout AU and EU communication platforms

GRAND PRIZES

Two winners (one African, one European) will obtain:

• €500 monetary award

• Fully funded journey to Addis Ababa for the award ceremony – deliberate at first of December 2025, dates to be confirmed 

• Speaking alternative on the exhibition occasion

• Valuable networking with key AU and EU stakeholders

KEY DATES

• Submission Deadline: 7 November 2025

• Finalists Announcement: Mid-November 2025

• Award Ceremony: dates to be confirmed, deliberate for starting December

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Each participant could submit as much as three entries. Any functions have to be accomplished in English or French. 

Photographers have to be 30 years or youthful to encourage rising expertise.
