Church of Jesus Christ releases {photograph} of First Presidency – Deseret Information

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints launched the primary official portrait of President Dallin H. Oaks and his counselors within the First Presidency, President Henry B. Eyring and President D. Todd Christofferson, on Sunday.

President Oaks was ordained the 18th president and prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Oct. 14. During a dwell broadcast, he named President Eyring and President Christofferson as his first and second counselors, respectively.

“I accept with humility the responsibility that God has placed upon me and commit my whole heart and soul to the service to which I’ve been called,” President Oaks mentioned throughout the broadcast.

He expressed gratitude for the prayers supplied by so many members of the church for the brand new First Presidency.

“I have felt the effect of those prayers and with my counselors we will strive in all respects to press forward this great work,” he mentioned.

Before his calling within the First Presidency, President Christofferson had been serving within the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles since April 5, 2008.
