Mustangs End In Fourth At Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. (SMU) – SMU ladies’s golf completed in fourth place on the Landfall Tradition from Country Club of Landfall’s Pete Dye Course.

“Tough to finish the way we did, but I’m extremely proud of this group for putting us in position to compete at the top of the leaderboard,” stated head coach Lauren Mason. “With only four players and our fifth player sick, we were unable to bring a healthy squad all week, but they really stepped up and were able to beat some very strong teams ranked ahead of us! That experience will only help us grow and improve heading into the spring season.”

“This is a really strong group of players who continue to set the standard high, and we’ll keep pushing to achieve even more this spring. Time to get back to work this offseason.”

SMU entered the ultimate spherical in third place trailing North Carolina and UCF. The crew shot six-over on Sunday to maneuver into fourth place. The Mustangs completed forward of eight ranked groups. With rounds of one-under and one-over on the primary two days, the Mustangs wrapped up play at six-over for the event.  SMU has completed within the high third in every of its final three tournaments.
 
Emily Odwin led the Mustangs for the third straight event. She recorded her 10^th high 10 end of her profession with an eighth place displaying. The senior carded rounds of 72, 70 and 71. She moved up 19 spots in her greatest spherical on Saturday.
 
Grace Jin carded rounds of 71, 74, and 72 in her greatest efficiency as a Mustang. Jin tallied only one bogey in her last spherical. She completed in a tie for 14^th and recorded an eagle on day one.
 
Celine Chen completed in a tie for 35^th on the Landfall Tradition. She shot a 79 within the last spherical. Chen carded two rounds of par or higher on the week with a 71 and 72 on the primary two days.  Mackenzie Lee shot a 77. Lee recorded three birdies in 4 holes close to the start of her spherical. Freshman Uma Bergner got here again from a illness in spherical two to publish a 74 in spherical three.
 
The Landfall Tradition wraps up the autumn slate for SMU. The crew will subsequent be in motion Feb. 1-3, 2026 on the Therese Hession Regional Challenge.
