Triathlon Heads to NCAA West National Qualifier

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona will compete on the NCAA West National Qualifier in Fort Worth, Texas on Sunday morning for a spot within the USA Triathlon National Championship. Arizona will race within the second warmth that’s set to start at 9 a.m. MST at Marine Creek Reservoir.

Last Race

Arizona positioned first on the Duel within the Desert, totaling 60 factors to win the race towards Arizona State who scored 54 factors.

Five Wildcats completed within the high 10 individually and all seven Arizona triathletes positioned within the high 12 with Kelly Lyn Wetteland taking first for the third race this season with a time of 29:43:76. Margareta Vrablova was second with a time of 29:59:30. Ellison Wolfe positioned fifth with a time of 30:14:57, Ruth Pardy completed eighth with a time of 30:35:00, and Mia Wentzy was ninth with a time of 30:41:31. Molly Lakustiak completed tenth with a time of 30:46:59 and Sara Crociani positioned twelfth with a time of 31:14:49.

The USA Triathlon National Championship race is scheduled for November 8 and will probably be host by Arizona State in Tempe, Arizona.
