Fencing Completes Temple Open; 12 Quakers Earn Spots on the Podium

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania fencing applications opened the 2025-26 season on the Temple Open this weekend, with 12 Quakers incomes spots on the rostrum to finish the two-day event.
 
Eight fencers from the lads’s group and 4 from the ladies’s group earned medals to cap off the weekend for Penn. For the ladies, Grace Hu led the cost, incomes gold within the epee desk. Kimberly Jang trailed Hu, incomes silver in foil, whereas Lila Paul positioned sixth in saber, and Katherine Andres grabbed eighth in saber.
 
Antonio Heathcock rallied the troops for the lads’s group, incomes silver in foil, adopted by Nicholas Jin (epee), Conrad Lo (foil), Simon Lioznyansky (epee), and Jaesun Yun (saber), all of whom landed bronze of their weapons. Avery Townsend (sixth, epee), Ben Serafin (eighth, epee), and Alexander Wu (eighth, foil) rounded out the Quakers who earned podium spots on Broad Street.
 
Victoria Amore, Eda Cevikol, Misha Gujja, Jang, Boryana Mitova, Lila Paul, Cathleen Shi, and Sophia Zheng made their collegiate debuts for the ladies, whereas Lioznyansky, Lo, Alexander Moses, and Wu hit the piste for the primary time for the lads.
