Mr. Fun’s in Cuyahoga Falls to shut

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio (WJW) — A beloved costume store in Northeast Ohio has introduced the closing of its brick-and-mortar location this yr.

After almost 60 years in enterprise, Mr. Fun’s Costumes and Curiosities is shifting to a pop-up/occasions mannequin, letting go of its year-round location.

“This isn’t a final curtain call — it’s just an exciting costume change,” Meralie Pocock, co-owner of Mr. Fun’s, mentioned in an announcement.

This yr is the companies’ final Halloween and Christmas season on Front Street, closing up store formally on Dec. 31.

After promoting every part on the store, the plan is to begin promoting enjoyable costumes and presents at festivals and bazaars and different neighborhood occasions in 2026.

The business was started by Al and Carol Pocock in 1968 and has been run by the family ever since. While the shop has moved around through the years, it’s always been in Cuyahoga Falls.

“This isn’t goodbye — it’s a fresh take on how we connect with our community,” Pocock said. “This move gives us the freedom to be even more creative and spontaneous, and we can show up in new places, meet new faces, and keep doing what we love — spreading fun wherever we go!”
