Badgers take sixth at Big Tens

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Thanks to a stellar exhibiting by sophomore Mikaela Helling, the Wisconsin ladies’s cross nation crew positioned sixth on the 2025 Big Ten Cross Country Championships on Friday morning. 

Wisconsin completed with 164 factors thanks partly to Helling delivering a private finest time of 20 minutes, 33.2 seconds to complete first for UW. The sophomore completed twenty first total. Helling notched her earlier private finest on the 2024 Big Tens with a time of 20:59.2.

Kylie Finger was the second Badger to cross the end line, coming in thirtieth total, masking the 6K course in 20:46.4. 

Nora Gremban completed in thirty fourth in 20:52.1, Leané Willemse positioned thirty eighth in 20:53.5 and Sara Mlodik rounded out the scorers, taking forty first in 20:58.0. Mlodik earned Freshman All-Big Ten Honors for her exhibiting. 

Oregon took residence the title with 18 factors whereas Oregon freshman Diana Cherotitch gained with a time of 19:31.3 The Ducks had been adopted by Penn State with 78 factors and Northwestern with 96. 

Up subsequent: After a two week break, UW will journey to Evansville, Indiana for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional race. The race will probably be held on Nov.14 on the Angel Mounds State Historic Site. The ladies’s 6K is about to begin at 10:35 a.m. CT.
