Remembrance Services and Ceremonies are going down throughout Torbay on Sunday 9 November and Tuesday 11 November.

Torbay’s communities unite yearly on Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day to recollect the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces group of the UK and Commonwealth, and all those who have defended our freedoms and guarded our lifestyle. Torquay

Sunday 9 November

Annual Remembrance Sunday Civic Parade and Service

A parade to the Cenotaph by the Torbay Armed Service items, Veterans and Cadets, shall be adopted by the standard two minutes’ silence at 11am, a brief service and the laying of wreaths.

Tuesday 11 November

Armistice Day and two minutes’ silence

Brixham

Sunday 9 November

Brixham Remembrance Parade begins at 10.30am, assembling on the Man and Boy Statue, Kings Quay.

Part of Berry Head Road shall be closed to vehicular visitors from 10am. 

A service of remembrance, organized by the Brixham department of the Royal British Legion shall be going down on the War Memorial, Berry Head Road. A wreath laying ceremony will happen at 11am.

The Deputy to The Worshipful Mayor of Torbay, Councillor Hazel Foster, shall be attending the Brixham Memorial Service.

Tuesday 11 November

There shall be a Remembrance Service by Churston War Memorial at 10:55am.

There may even be a Festival of Remembrance at St Mary’s Church in Brixham subsequent week on 5 November at 7pm.

Stagecoach free journey provide

Stagecoach shall be providing free journey for all serving navy, veterans and cadets on Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day. The provide applies to any serving personnel or cadet in uniform, these with a navy ID card, and veteran carrying medals or veteran’s badges attending Remembrance Services.
