Maine defeats UNH, advances to America East semifinal

ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine ladies’s soccer crew earned a 2-1 win over New Hampshire within the America East Championships quarterfinal spherical on Sunday afternoon on the New Balance Soccer Complex.
 
The fourth-seeded Black Bears will now journey to face top-seeded Binghamton within the semifinal spherical at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6.
 
The Wildcats scored within the fortieth minute of the Buffal Wild Wings Border Battle to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. Maine scored precisely one minute into the second half, with Jordane Pinette ending an extended cross from Julie Lossius. Twenty minutes later, Gillian Rovers delivered the eventual game-winning objective when she deflected in a ball from Madison Michaud.
 
With the 2-1 victory, the Black Bears advance to the semifinal spherical of the America East match for the fourth consecutive yr.
