Meals and Enjoyable at Oktoberfest  – The Troubadour Online

Finnegan Fieldhouse was buzzing with pleasure on Oct. 11 as college students gathered for Oktoberfest: a night of German meals, reside music and fellowship organized by Student Engagement. The occasion started at 5 p.m. and lasted till 9 p.m.   

Hundreds crowded the celebration, with an enormous line of scholars ready to make use of their meal swipes for a German dinner. The meal, served buffet-style, included German staples like schnitzel (a pork dish), schmorkohl (cabbage boiled in beef broth) and käsespätzle (dumplings with cheese and onions).  

After loading their plates, college students sat down at lengthy tables scattered across the fieldhouse, cheerfully adorned with string lights and blue checkered tablecloths. They loved their meals and chatted with buddies. 

“The food was good,” mentioned freshman Ellie Lewis, and lots of college students concurred.  

Another spotlight of the night was the reside music. A polka band carried out from the fieldhouse stage, taking part in energetic instrumental songs and even a number of dances. On their method out, many college students stopped to seize a German dessert. Sweet treats included Schwarwalder Kirschtorte (Black Forest chocolate cupcakes) and Linzertorte, a powdered sugar-sprinkled tart with cherry filling.  

Freshman Claire Benson was enthusiastic concerning the occasion. “It was fabulous!” she mentioned. “The food and music were so fun. I had a great time getting to do something different, and it was exciting to enjoy the energy of so many people.” She liked celebrating Oktoberfest surrounded by her buddies.   

Judging by the dialog and laughter that crammed the fieldhouse all night, Oktoberfest was a joyful gathering for a lot of college students.
