Thousand Islands High School swim group will get a serving to hand

WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – The Thousand Islands High School pool has been present process some work this fall.

The Vikings ladies’ swim group was utilizing an outside pool to apply earlier this season.

That’s the place Indian River got here in. Wolves ladies swim coach Alan Baker was very happy to supply the services at Indian River to assist out Thousand Islands. Thousand Islands coach Miranda Nelson is very happy to simply accept. Using the services has actually helped with 11 Vikings swimmers headed to Sectionals this coming weekend. The swimming neighborhood is a close-knit group.

“The Frontier League is a bunch of friendly coaches. We’re all friendly with all the teams, and I had heard that the Thousand Islands pool was being worked on. When they came to our swim meet here, they were still swimming outside, and the water was 65 degrees or lower. I said Why are you doing that when you could come over here and swim, nd that was the start of it. They’ve been swimming here and we enjoy having them here,” stated Alan Baker.

“Yes, we are absolutely happy to be here at Indian River. We were practicing in the Clayton pool until October 6th, our last practice there, and then coach Al Baker reached out to us and said he would love to have us here. We have loved being in the warmth with backstoke flags and starting blocks. We’re so happy he’s shared the pool with us, and shares practices with him. So the girls have an opportunity to be warm and practice the skills they need to practice for these bigger meets,” stated Miranda Nelson.
