Colyer Named Semifinalist for AVCA National Player of the Year

MADISON, Wis. – Outside hitter Mimi Colyer of the Wisconsin volleyball crew has been named a semifinalist for the 2025 AVCA National Player of the Year, introduced Friday by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

This preseason, Colyer was named to the preliminary checklist of the 2025 AVCA National Player of the Year candidates, and has since been named 1-of-14 athletes to advance to the semifinalists checklist. Should Colyer earn the celebrated National Player of the Year award, Colyer would be a part of the likes of Dana Rettke (2021) and Sarah Franklin (2023) of those that have received the award in program historical past.
