Buckeyes Wrap Up Elite Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Elite Invitational hosted by Ohio State in French Field House wrapped up Sunday. The No. 6-ranked Buckeye girls had been 1-4 on the day and the No. 5 males had been 0-4.

The girls ended the two-day occasion 5-5 total. Gloria Klughardt of the ladies’s epee squad was a team-best 19-5 mixed. Natalia Botello was first for ladies’s sabre with a 17-4 ledger and Riyan Moradi-Bidhendi led the ladies’s foil squad with 12 wins.

The males had been 3-6 over the 2 days as a group. Epeeist Matthew Bülau and foilist Solin Li every posted 13 wins to steer their squads and Samuel Rightler and Carter Berrio had been first for males’s sabre with 10 wins apiece.

The Buckeye Women

• Ohio State dropped group matches in opposition to Top 15 applications No. 1 Notre Dame, No. 4 Princeton, No. 13 North Carolina and No. 8 Duke, wrapping up the day with a victory over Denison.
• Women’s epee picked up two squad victories. Gloria Klughardt received 10-of-11 bouts on the day to steer the group.
• In girls’s foil Masha Cojocari led the way in which with six wins Sunday.
• Natalia Botello was first for the sabre squad with a 7-4 mark.

• The males fell to 4 Top 10 ranked groups – No. 2 Notre Dame, No. 4 Princeton, No. 10 North Carolina and No. 9 Duke.
• The males’s epee squad was an ideal 4-0 on the day. Nowell Gibson, Ayush Shah and Matthew Bülau every had 4 wins on day two of the Elite Invite.
• In males’s foil, Solin Li and Mitchell Huth had been first with 5 wins every Sunday.
• Samuel Rightler paced males’s sabre with 5 victories.
