Five Unbeaten Wrestlers Spotlight Journeymen Collegiate Classic

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Five App State wrestlers posted unbeaten data Sunday on the Journeymen Collegiate Classic.
 
The occasion had a format with extra round-robin components than a conventional match, with some weight courses having as many as eight completely different swimming pools of rivals. Alex Hopper went 4-0 in his pool at 174 kilos, whereas Aldo Hernandez (141), Anthony Conetta (165), Logan Eller (197) and Stephan Monchery (heavyweight) all went 3-0.
 
Kaden Keiser produced a ranked win at 149 kilos, utilizing a tying takedown late in regulation and a Sudden Victory additional time takedown to prevail 7-4 towards No. 31 Richard Fedalen from Columbia as a part of a 2-1 day.
 
After having a tiebreaking, last-second takedown worn out by a prolonged assessment in his remaining match, Hernandez capped his day with a Sudden Victory takedown of Rutgers’ Mason Gibson to prevail 9-6.
 
Conetta had two pins amongst his three victories, whereas Hopper had tiebreaking takedowns with 35 seconds left in his first match and 29 seconds left in his remaining match. Eller outscored his three opponents 16-1 whereas ending one match with a first-period pin, and Monchery posted victories by scores of 17-6, 8-1 and 9-5 (with a late takedown to seal that win).
 
Jarvis Little (133 kilos) and Kai O’Dell (157) had 3-1 data, as O’Dell used a Sudden Victory takedown to win 5-2 towards Rutgers’ Dagen Condomitti. Seven wrestlers from App State went 2-1: Keiser, Cooper Foster (125), Joe Fongaro (141), Jeremiah Price (157), Dawson Bond (165), Colt Campbell (174) and Hunter Adams (197).
