Cross Country Nears End Line with NCAA Midwest Regional

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Ok-State males’s and girls’s cross nation groups proceed the postseason on Friday (November 14) with the NCAA Midwest Regional in Stillwater, Okla., on the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course.

Both race occasions have been moved up, the ladies’s 6k now beginning at 9 a.m. CT, with the lads’s 10k following at 10 a.m. Both races could be streamed on ESPN+.

This is the primary race again in Stillwater for the Wildcats because the regional meet in 2023. This may also be the primary 10k of the season for the lads, with simply two Wildcats, sophomore Jackson Esquibel and junior Jacob Norris, with expertise on this race final season. During that regional race in 2024 the ladies’s workforce completed in 14^th place with 427 factors, the lads in 19^th place with 505 factors.

The Midwest area consists of three Big 12 Conference opponents, Iowa State, Kansas and Oklahoma State. Other regional groups within the males’s rankings are Tulsa (20) and Oklahoma (21).

“I think this meet, Big 12, is harder than the regional because it’s just that competitive,” head coach Kate Bucknam mentioned. “But you know, [Cecilia Fisher and Grace Meyer] have a shot to be in the top-30, potentially All-Region. You know, that’s the goal, but it’s going to be competitive.”

During the Big 12 Championship meet on October 31, the ladies’s workforce completed the 6k in 9^th place, the lads’s workforce in 11^th after the 8k, each one spot larger than final season. Esquibel led the lads in 57^th place with a time of 24:51.2, freshman Logan Beckman with the one private finest race, 15 seconds sooner at 25:02.1 in 64^th place. The girls had two top-50 finishers, senior Grace Meyer crossed the end line at 44^th place in 20:59.4, sophomore Stella Miner simply two seconds behind at 21:01.8 in 46^th place.
