MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Two non-profit pet organizations have come collectively to deliver one other misplaced pet scanner station to Horry County.

Tidal Paws Animal Rescue has introduced that they’ve sponsored a brand new set up for the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach’s Microchip Scanner Station program.

This new scanner shall be positioned at Bark Park South at 700 Mallard Lake Drive in The Market Common.

“Each station provides a 24/7 accessible scanner for community members to check lost pets for a microchip and identify their owners through national registration databases. By sponsoring this new scanner station, Tidal Paws Animal Rescue continues its mission to support animal welfare efforts across the Grand Strand and beyond,” read the announcement.

Announcers said the station will officially be installed on Monday at 10:45 a.m.

“When a pet goes missing, every minute matters,” stated Tidal Paws Community Engagement & Outreach Director Jennifer Elvis. “Having an accessible scanner right in the community allows good Samaritans to take immediate action to get pets home faster.”

The Humane Society launched the program in March with the first scanner being installed in Little River.
