Ranger coach Mike Sullivan may miss extra video games for private motive

Head coach Mike Sullivan was a late scratch Sunday, lacking the Rangers’ 2-1 loss to the Red Wings for private causes.

When the Rangers start their three-game Western swing on Tuesday in Las Vegas, Sullivan could possibly be lacking from the bench once more.

“I don’t have an update right now,” assistant coach David Quinn stated after the sport. “From the coaches to the players to the organization, we’re certainly thinking about Mike and his family. It’s never an easy situation when you have to attend to your family.”

Quinn, who served as Rangers head coach for 3 seasons, break up the pinnacle teaching tasks with Joe Sacco.

One week after calling up Gabe Perreault in hopes of igniting their offense, the Rangers despatched the 20-year-old again all the way down to Hartford (AHL) on Sunday.

Sullivan put Perreault in place to succeed, putting the teenager on the highest line with J.T. Miller and Mika Zibanejad. But the 5-foot-11, 2023 first-round decide struggled to benefit from his alternative, seeing restricted touches and small home windows to function, whereas recording two pictures on purpose in three video games and one help.
