Women’s Volleyball Drops Highway Match at Cal Poly

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The University of Hawai’i ladies’s volleyball crew’s ultimate highway match of the common season led to a Cal Poly sweep on Saturday on the Mott Athletics Center in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
 
The Rainbow Wahine (11-16, 7-9 Big West) fell right into a tie with UC Irvine for sixth place within the Big West standings whereas the host Mustangs (22-6, 13-3) accomplished a sweep of the regular-season collection with UH with the 25-14, 25-20, 25-12 win.
 
The ‘Bows’ bid to earn a spot within the Hawaiian Islands Presents the 2025 Outrigger Big West Women’s Volleyball Championship will come all the way down to the ultimate week of the common season. Bri Gunderson, Cha’lei Reid and Tyla Reese Mane tied for the crew lead with seven kills every. Mane hit .500 for the match and Gunderson had two of UH’s three service aces. Audrey Hollis made her first look since Oct. 12 and contributed 4 kills in six makes an attempt off the bench.
 
Libero Victoria Leyva got here up with 11 digs to increase her streak of matches in double-digit digs to 10.
 
Charlotte Kelly and Annabelle Thalken led Cal Poly with 10 kills every whereas hitting .412 and .400, respectively, and the Mustangs improved to 15-0 at residence this season.
 
UH took an early lead within the first set however Cal Poly surged forward with an 11-1 run and took an 18-10 lead on back-to-back blocks. The Mustangs continued to tug away and scored the ultimate three factors of the set.
