Florida gasoline costs bounce, simply in time for Thanksgiving journey

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Florida gasoline costs rose 20 cents per gallon final week, as hundreds of thousands of Americans put together to journey for Thanksgiving, AAA says.

In its annual Thanksgiving Travel Forecast, AAA says of the record-setting 81.8 million Americans anticipated to journey 50 miles or extra, 90%, or 73 million, will drive.

In Florida, greater than 4.25 million residents are anticipated to enterprise out. Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons are forecast to be the busiest instances on the highway.

“Florida gas prices jumped 20 cents last week, following a familiar trend of rising after a series of declines,” mentioned Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA – The Auto Club Group.

“If that pattern holds, drivers could see prices ease as they hit the road for Thanksgiving. With pump prices matching last year’s holiday, even a small drop would give travelers extra savings compared to 2024.”

On Sunday, Florida gasoline costs averaged $3.10 per gallon, which is similar worth as Thanksgiving Day 2024.
