Ohio Swim and Dive Sweep Weekly MAC Honors

CLEVELAND, OHIO – Juniors Zita Szoke and Astrid Pichardo have been named Mid-American Conference Swimmer and Diver of the week for his or her performances through the week of Nov. 17, the league introduced this afternoon (Nov. 25).

Szoke (Serbia, Becej) earned Swimmer of the Week honors from her efforts on the TYR ’85 Invite this previous weekend. Szoke positioned first in all of her particular person occasions over the weekend, together with breaking a college document within the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.48 within the preliminary spherical.

Overall, Szoke claimed 5 first-place finishes over the weekend with two second-place finishes, serving to the Bobcats to a first-place victory on the TYR 85′ Invite.

 

Szoke positioned first within the 4×50-yard free relay with a time of 1:30.85, the 50-yard free with a time of twenty-two.34, the 200-yard free with a time of 1:45.83, the 100-yard free with a time of 47.65, and the 4×100-yard free with a time of three:18.38.

 

In the preliminary spherical on Saturday morning (Nov. 23), Szoke broke the varsity document within the 100-yard butterfly, with a time of 52.48, breaking a document that was set in 2011.

Pichardo (Guanajuato, Mexico) earned Diver of the Week honors for her efforts on the TYR ’85 Invite this previous weekend. Pichardo positioned first in each the 1-meter dive and the 3-meter dive with a rating of 294.25 within the 1-meter and a rating of 301.45 within the 3-meter, which helped the Bobcats safe a first-place end on the TYR ’85 invite.

 

In her 1-meter dive, Pichardo noticed an 8.00 rating enhance from her prelims rating to her finals rating. In the 3-meter dive, Pichardo noticed a 28.50 enhance in her rating.

 

Szoke and the remainder of the Ohio swim staff return to motion Dec. 3-6 on the Toyota US Open in Austin, Texas. Pichardo and the Bobcat divers return to the pool Jan. 8-10 on the UB Diving Invite in Buffalo, New York.
