“We want to play relaxed. The biggest thing is, you give your best effort, and enjoy each other, enjoy your family. Don’t let this override your priorities,” says Marley.

As the Eagles chase back-to-back Class A-One state championships, the seniors are setting the tone.

“Underclassmen didn’t really get to experience what happened last year. So the upperclassmen are like hey, you’ve got to focus and just do some of the things we did last year, just bring it back to this year. Stay focused. We can have a little fun, stay loose, but overall just stay focused and locked in on what we’re doing,” says Goodwin.

“Come in, we’re having fun, but when the whistle blows and warm ups start, they’ve been locked in. And they’ve led by example, because they’ve been here, they’ve been early, they’ve been ready to go in the team meeting room,” provides Marley.

The Class A-I semifinal between the Huskies and Eagles is about for subsequent Friday, December 5, at 7 p.m. at Oologah High School.
