Snow impacts journey throughout the Tri-States

QUINCY (WGEM) – Heavy snow started falling early Saturday morning throughout the Tri-States impacting journey on roads.

As of seven a.m. the Illinois DEpartmnet of Trasportation confirmed all roads in Western illinois as snow coated roads attributable to blowing snow.

In North Eastern Missouri the Missouri Departmnet of Transporation confirmed all roads as coated with some bridges closed.

The Iowa Departmnet of Transportaion additionally confirmed all roads in South East Iowa as snow coated.

Winter Storm Warnings will stay in impact by way of Saturday.

Scotland, Clark, Knox, and Lewis counties in Missouri, Lee County, Iowa, and Hancock, McDonough, Adams, Brown, Pike, and Scott counties in Illinois are underneath a Winter Storm Warning lasting into early Sunday morning.

Shelby, Marion, Monroe, and Ralls counties in Missouri are underneath a Winter Weather Advisory by way of midnight Saturday evening.

As we transfer by way of Saturday, snow will start to transition into rain by the afternoon in our central and southern tiers of the Tri-States. This will proceed because the system strikes off to the northeast.

The northern tier of the Tri-States will stay principally to all snow by way of Saturday, with the final flakes transferring out later within the night.

Where we see snow transition to rain, we can have decrease snowfall totals. Our totals may also be depending on how early or late that transition occurs.
