West Grinstead swim faculty wins nationwide award

A West Sussex swimming faculty has mentioned it’s “over the moon” to win a nationwide award.

West Grinstead Swimming Academy has been named Swim School of the Year on the Swim England National Awards after beforehand securing second and third place within the class within the two earlier years.

Hundreds attended the awards ceremony at Birmingham University’s Great Hall on Saturday.

Founding companion Vikki Heal mentioned the award was a “testament to our dedicated and passionate team”.

She mentioned the academy had taught greater than 1,000 infants, kids and adults to swim confidently and safely up to now three years.

“Our instructors are passionate about helping families feel comfortable around water, something that is so important to so many in our community,” she mentioned.

“The judges were impressed with our work with charities such as Level Water who provide lessons for children with physical disabilities.”

The academy can also be fundraising to renovate two swimming pools in Uganda which help orphaned kids, Ms Heal added.

Fellow founding companion Nick Isaacson mentioned: “We work so hard to make our swim school the very best, not just locally, but on a national stage, so to get this recognised by top industry experts means everything to us.”

There had been 25 awards handed out on the occasion, together with for volunteering and instructing.

Swim England chief government, Andy Salmon, mentioned the awards had been “an opportunity to take a moment to rightly applaud and give thanks to so many people who do so much for our sports and activities”.
