Franklin Lectures Pupil Journey Awards

The McNeil Center will distribute eight awards as much as $1,000 to facilitate the journey of scholars enrolled at MCEAS Consortium establishments to attend the 2025 Benjamin Franklin Distinguished Lectures.

The 2025 Benjamin Franklin Distinguished lectures can be given by Gwendolyn DuBois Shaw, James and Nan Wagner Farquhar Professor within the History of Art and the Inaugural Faculty Director of the Arthur Ross Gallery, on the University of Pennsylvania on October 20, 21, and 23, and titled “On Seeing the Stain of Slavery: An Art History of Titian’s Poesie (1550) and the Maryland Portraits of Justus Engelhardt Kühn (1710).”

Doctoral pupil recipients may also be invited to attend Professor Shaw’s masterclass in historic strategies and analysis, to be held on the afternoon of October 22.
