Katherine was born on September 20, 1987, in Denver, Colorado, to Kristine Sellers (previously Malone, née Warren) and Richard Malone. She spent her early childhood in Colorado and later in Gurnee, Illinois. Throughout her youth, she spent summers in Harbor Springs swimming and enjoying golf together with her household, and he or she later moved there completely as a freshman in highschool.

Katherine graduated from Harbor Springs High School and accomplished some faculty coursework following commencement. She carried an adventurous and free spirit all through her life, dwelling in a number of locations and at all times searching for new experiences.
