Chicago taking pictures: St. Sabina Church suspends Sunday basketball video games after close by taking pictures leaves 3 injured

CHICAGO (WLS) — There are modifications coming to Saint Sabina Church.

For now, Sunday males’s basketball video games are suspended after three individuals had been shot and injured close to the church over the weekend.

Father Michael Pfleger mentioned there was argument in the course of the a basketball recreation that then escalated to a few individuals being shot.

Fr. Pfleger mentioned the main focus is discovering the shooter.

For now, Sunday males’s basketball video games at Saint Sabina Church are suspended.

Father Pfleger mentioned the weekend taking pictures was captured on video and has since been turned over to Chicago police to assist with their investigation.

Saint Sabina Church hopes this results in an arrest quickly.

“The reality is, three people were shot and it happened outside of our buildings and I take that very personal,” Fr. Pfleger mentioned. “People know what we stand for here. We know how to feel about guns, about violence. And they disrespected, not just Sabina, but they violated a community that has worked really hard. Residents and police worked really hard to be safe around here.”

Father Pfleger mentioned for his or her youth leagues they pat down and search luggage earlier than individuals come into the gymnasium they usually might need to rethink and begin doing it for his or her grownup leagues too.
