Meet the Foes

The Hawai’i men’s swim program currently sits at 2-1 on the year, with its last outing in Salt Lake City against Utah, where it was defeated 158-66. The program, however, has seen strong performances against SMU, UC San Diego and two victories against Grand Canyon.

The Hawai’i women’s team record tallies at 1-2 on the season, with its sole victory coming against Grand Canyon. Alongside the men’s program, it too sustained a loss against Utah on Dec. 22.

BYU

The Cougars’ performance in November at the Wolfpack Elite Invite was highlighted by top finishes from Tatum Cooley, Easton Mousser and Peter Etzold. All three scored second-fastest finishes in BYU history in their respective events.

In total, BYU saw 18 top 10 all-time finishes across both the men’s and women’s teams over the three-day competition in North Carolina.

BYU dive also saw stellar performances in its last competition at USC from Martí Llop, who earned a personal-best performance in the 3-meter event. Ashton Sparks also earned a personal best in the 3-meter event, and Brooklyn Goeckertiz led the women’s team with top 10 placements.

Concluding Saturday’s meet, BYU will compete the following weekend against Denver on Jan. 10.
