Obituary for Delores “Dee” Johnson

Delores “Dee” Johnson, age 81, of Glenn Dale, Maryland, handed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025, on the Walnut Creek Assisted Living Facility in Evansville, Indiana.

Delores was born December February 17, 1944 in Alexandria, Virginia, to Willard Oliver and Margaret (O’Connor) Routten. She graduated from Oxon Hill High School in 1962. She was married to the love of her life, Jule Johnson on August 8, 1964. She labored for AT& T to help the household whereas Jule accomplished school at University of Maryland after which devoted her life to elevating her youngsters.

Delores was a passionate mom who was an excellent prepare dinner and well-known for her Christmas cookies, deviled eggs and phenomenal gravies. She cherished pelicans, feeding stray cats, nation music and journey. She and Jule travelled the world with some favourite locations being Alaska, Hawaii, Australia, Chile and Norway. She particularly cherished her yearly journey with pals to Key West each winter.

Delores cherished the Lord and attended Riverdale Baptist church for greater than 50 years. She was a part-time worker of Riverdale Baptist School the place she labored with younger youngsters.

Delores is survived by her youngsters, William Johnson, Julie Hurlock (Wayne), Rick Johnson (Danielle); sister, Vicki Farrow (Shawn); grandchildren, Jennifer Clay, Megan, Michael, Jason,  Cora and James Johnson, Patrick and Alexandra Hurlock; and nice grandson, Jayce Clay.

Delores is preceded in dying by her dad and mom; beloved and husband of 49 years, Jule Abner Johnson and grandsons Paul and Gregory Johnson.

Family will obtain pals on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 2-5 p.m. on the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Rd. Bowie, MD.

Funeral providers might be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, viewing from 10-11a.m. and repair at 11 a.m. at Riverdale Baptist Church, 1177 Largo Rd., Upper Marlboro, MD 20774. Interment will happen in Riverdale Memorial Gardens.
