Class of 2029: First Years’ First Ideas – Information

Orientation Trip: Adirondack Adventure, Cranberry Lake Combo

First-Semester Classes: Intro to Economics, Biology (You Are What You Eat), Calculus 2, Philosophy (Paying Attention) PE: Rock Climbing and Squash

Extracurriculars: Ultimate Frisbee, Outdoor Club chief, Hamilton Harvest, Club Ice Hockey, Plants Club 

Go-to Dining: Commons. I prefer to make a rooster sandwich with the panini press. 

Favorite Class: Paying Attention. It was my first time taking a philosophy course, so it was thrilling making an attempt one thing new. The foundation of the course was analyzing totally different theories of consideration and its function in our cognitive, emotional, and moral lives. The course helped me to understand that what we take note of determines our expertise, and once you get higher at attending to what actually issues, your life high quality will improve. 

Favorite Hamilton Moment: Going swimming at sundown and below the celebrities in Cranberry Lake throughout my orientation journey, taking part in within the Purple Valley frisbee event with the Hot Saucers (Hamilton’s Ultimate Team), and having a snowball battle after the primary snowfall on campus.

Advising: I’ve met with my ALEX advisor, Noelle Niznik, 4 instances this semester. She assisted me when adjusting to the College expertise early within the semester, labored with me via instances once I was feeling overwhelmed, and helped me make selections for the second semester and the way forward for my Hamilton expertise.  

On My Hamilton Bucket List: Cross nation snowboarding. I’ve by no means achieved it, and it looks like a good way to reap the benefits of all of the snow we’ve been getting!
