The Woodland Camera Forum is internet hosting a free images presentation, “Petroglyphs: Native American Art” within the Southwest U.S., by photographer John Garbutt, on Monday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m., locally room at Living Hope Church, 240 N. West St., in Woodland. The public is invited to attend.

His photographs give a glimpse into the petroglyph panels that exist at Parowan Gap, Utah and Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada.  He will current some insights on journey ideas and different scenic websites which may be of curiosity in these basic areas.

Garbutt was born and raised in Glenn County, California, on a small acreage farm of many alternative crops and timber. He is a retired State of California Department of Transportation Maintenance Supervisor, with 33 years of service, all in District 3, together with 12 full-time years on Donner Summit.

“I probably took my first photograph with a Kodak Brownie shooting 120 film. Through the years, a Kodak 104 with the 126 cartridges until I took the leap to 35mm Minolta SRT 202 DSLR. I currently shoot with a Canon R7 and “L” Lenses,” he says.

In addition to Garbutt’s presentation, members of the WCF will present a few of their latest photographs for dialogue, training on processing, and for inspiration.
