Badger duo earn weekly honors

Blackwell was named the Naismith Trophy Player of the Week Presented by Jersey Mikes whereas Boyd earned Co-Big Ten Player of the Week honors. 

A 6-4 guard from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Blackwell picked up the award after averaging 21.5 factors, 4.5 rebounds and three assists in wins over UCLA and Michigan final week. The Michigan native posted 17 factors, 4 rebounds and three assists within the 80-72 victory over UCLA on Tuesday, earlier than pacing Bucky to the 91-88 upset win over No. 2 Michigan with 26 factors, 5 rebounds and three assists. He shot 9-of-16 from the sphere and accounted for 4 of UW’s 15 three-pointers. 

It’s Blackwell’s first-career National Player of the Week Honors, after choosing up Big Ten Freshman of the Week recognition 4 instances in the course of the 2023-24 season.
