Swimming & Diving Earns Three PAC Weekly Honors

TRAFFORD, Pa. – Three members of the Washington & Jefferson College Swimming & Diving Teams earned Presidents’ Athletic Conference weekly honors, as introduced by the convention on Monday (Jan. 12).
 
Junior Maddie Malone (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) has been chosen because the PAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week. Malone led the W&J girls in victories towards Chatham and Franciscan by logging first place finishes in all her respective occasions. Malone took first within the 100 breaststroke (1:16.53), the 100 free (1:01.69) and the 400 IM (5:22.62).
 
Junior Daniel Jeffries (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield Area) has been chosen because the PAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week. Jeffries helped lead W&J to a 221-48 victory over Chatham by putting first in all three of the occasions he competed in. Jeffries gained the 100 free and the 100 again with respective occasions of 48.96 and 56.90. Jeffries additionally swam laps within the 200 free relay for the Presidents that completed first with a time of 1:31.16.
 
Finally, freshman Mackenzie Caron (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) has been chosen because the PAC Women’s Newcomer of the Week. This is the fourth time this season that Caron has been chosen for this award.
