Sony has reportedly eliminated a whole bunch of ThiGames video games from its PlayStation Store.

As noticed by PushSquare, visiting ThiGames’ web site reveals that the majority, if not all, hyperlinks to the scores of video games listed there not work, suggesting the video games have been faraway from sale on the Sony storefront.

The video games – thought of by some as “shovelware” as they’re churned out rapidly, flood the shop, and sometimes supply simplistic or shallow experiences – are sometimes thought of a nuisance, however some gamers use them to beef up their trophy rely. Our sister website Eurogamer supplied one such instance with The Jumping Taco: Turbo, and linked to a video exhibiting quite a few unlocked Trophies, beginning with 30 seconds of play.

Up till the wipe, solely three builders had extra video games listed on the PS4 and PS5 shops than ThiGames: Eastasiasoft, Ratalaika Games, and Webnetic, based on trophy hunter, Rob Thanatos. But as GameDiscoverCo’s Simon Carless cautions, some shops are itemizing 5 completely different PlayStation regional SKUs for every recreation, and suggests the actual estimate is nearer to round 150 video games. Nonetheless, it is thought ThiGames was grossing virtually $10 million every year.

“Won’t speculate as to why Sony ended up doing this, but I do think ‘[more than] 1000 games’ being cited is wrong for ThiGames, since it’s counting five different PlayStation regional SKUs for each game,” Carless wrote on LinkedIn. “GameDiscoverCo estimates have them as releasing 153 games and grossing almost $10m (!).”

Neither ThiGames nor Sony has commented publicly on the experiences so far.
