FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAYS: Troublesome weekend journey attainable

A Winter Storm Warning is in impact for Gogebic and Ontonagon counties till 7 p.m. Saturday and a Winter Weather Advisory is in impact for Houghton and Keweenaw counties till 7 p.m. Saturday and for Baraga and Marquette counties from 1 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. Most of the warning space can count on round 4-8 inches of snowfall by 7 p.m. Saturday, although quantities could possibly be higher within the greater terrain of the Porcupine Mountains. 3-6 inches of snow is predicted for the Houghton County, Baraga County and Big Bay areas, with 2-4 inches for the Marquette, Ishpeming and Negaunee areas and 1-3 inches for the Gwinn/Okay.I. Sawyer, Republic and Copper Harbor areas. Look for off-and-on scattered snow showers for the rest of the weekend into a lot of the upcoming work week. Arctic air will transfer into Upper Michigan for Monday and Tuesday. Wind chills as chilly as -35 will likely be attainable, particularly for late Monday into early Tuesday.
