Ruth A. Black

     Ruth A. Black, 99, of Chillicothe, handed at 10:33 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2026 in National Church Residences, Chillicothe following a quick sickness.

     She was born May 21, 1926, in Ross County, to the late David O. Sr. and Sarah Koblentz Riley.  On June 2, 1946, she married Hubert Webb who handed August 12, 1972.  She later married George E. Black who handed in September 2, 2011. 

     Surviving are a daughter, Judith (Michael) Burton, of Circleville, OH; sons, Jeffrey L. Webb, of Caldwell, OH and Michael E. Webb, of Chillicothe; 14 grandchildren; 26 nice grandchildren; 2 nice nice grandchildren; and a number of other nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a son, Ronald L. Webb; brothers, Charles Riley and David O. “Buzzy” Riley, Jr.; and sisters, Maggie Zickafoose, Mary Scheeler, Helen Mallow and Sarah Walters. 

     Ruth was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church for a few years.  She labored for Chillicothe Elementary Schools as a Cafeteria Supervisor.  Ruth was a member of O.E.S. Chapter 419, American Legion Post 62 Ladies Auxiliary, was a Master Gardener and was an avid collector of many issues.

     Funeral providers might be held 1 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2026 within the WARE FUNERAL HOME.  Burial will observe in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Friends might name on the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. previous to the funeral service on Friday.
