MEDFORD, Mass. — The Bates swimming and diving program battled a pair of ranked Tufts groups in a twin meet on Saturday, with the boys’s workforce breaking a pair of pool information in a 172.5-97.5 loss to the No. 12 nationally ranked Jumbos and junior Sarah Palmer profitable once more for the ladies’s workforce in a 178-90 loss to No. 9 Tufts.

Men’s Highlights

  • Sophomore Erin Barisonek (New Vernon, N.J.) took third within the 50 again in 27.95 seconds.
  • First-year Katherine Reed (Wenham, Mass.) took fourth within the 200-yard freestyle in 1:58.38 and sixth within the 100-yard freestyle in 54.36 seconds.
  • First-year Grace Knight-Meister (Fort Collins, Colo.) debuted within the 500-yard freestyle with a powerful time of 5:19.74, incomes 9 factors for the Bobcats.
  • Senior McKayla Kendall (Bangor, Maine) scored 9 factors for the Bobcats within the 50-yard butterfly, posting the third-fastest time on the meet along with her mark of 26.52 seconds.

Cory, Somridhivej, Kendall, and senior captain Lianna Rosman (Bethesda, Md.) teamed up for the combined 200-yard freestyle relay, inserting third in 1:30.87.

The Bobcats are again in motion for Senior Night at Tarbell Pool on Friday, Jan. 30 once they host the University of New England and Maine Maritime Academy at 6 p.m.
