SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant University Women’s Swimming and Diving Program defeated the Marist Red Foxes 165-135 on Senior Day on the Chace Athletic Center. The Bulldogs honored seniors Katherine Bailey, Avery Bischoff, Jill Carline, Sarah Falder, Marcella Figueroa, Molly Gordon, Aurelie Honsberger, Anna Jackson, Hannah King, and Makayla Pearce following competitors.

COACH CAMERON’S COMMENTS

“What a way to send off our seniors. Getting wins on both the men’s and women’s sides made Senior Day even more special and really showed the hard work and dedication this team puts in every day, especially from our seniors over the past four years. We’re so proud of all of our Bulldogs, and it’s going to be a tough goodbye to this senior group in February”

HOW IT HAPPENED

 

  • Megan Beasley and Molly Gordon completed first and second in each the 1 and three meter dive. Beasley completed first in each occasions tallying a rating of 273.90 within the 1 meter and 289.35 within the 3 meter. Gordon put collectively scores of 248..18 within the 1 Meter and 257.85 within the 3 meter.
  • Clara Steen, Jocie Niemczyk, Sofia Doersch, and Marcella Figueroa helped the Bulldogs take residence the highest spot within the girls’s 200 yard medley relay, posting a time of 1:46.61.

  • Niemczyk positioned second within the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.66.
  • Ruby Tonelli took residence first place within the 200 yard butterfly with a time of two:04.29.
  • Figueroa and Kaitlyn Archambeault each file high 3 times for Bryant within the 50 yard freestyle. Figueroa completed first with a time of 24.34. Archambeault took third with a time of 25.00.
  • Carline and Addison Abreu went 2-3 within the 100 yard freestyle charting instances of 54.30 and 54.34 respectively.
  • Martha Sell completed second within the 200 yard again with a time of two:10.12.
  • Niemczyk clocked a time of two:24.32 within the 200 yard breaststroke.
  • Bailey and Pearce charted high three finishes within the 500 yard free. Bailey positioned first with a time of 5:08.96. Pearce completed third with a time of 5:15.61.
  • Tonelli and Amanda Witkus completed 1-2 within the 100 fly posting instances of 56.28 and 58.64.
  • Abreu added a second place end within the 200 yard IM with a time of two:11.85.
  • A senior led 400 free relay staff of Carline, King, Honsberger, and Figueroa positioned second with a time of three:39.55.

UP NEXT

The Bulldogs will hit the highway to compete at Boston University on Saturday, Jan 24. Meet time is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
