The Monmouth College ladies’s swimming staff posted the very best GPA within the nation for any Division III swimming program within the fall with a 3.87 staff GPA. The Fighting Scots have been acknowledged as a Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

“We are proud of the high GPA attained by the members of the swim program,” stated Director of Athletics Roger Haynes. “It takes great communication and dedication by the coach and athletes to  achieve such a high mark.”

“This is a huge achievement for our women,” stated head coach Jake Dacus. “From early morning practices to late night weekend study sessions they truly embody what it means to be a student-athlete. They had an outstanding fall semester in the pool but this accomplishment puts a huge exclamation point on their semester and I couldn’t be more proud of them.”

The staff had 9 student-athletes who competed within the fall semester and contributed to the nation-leading GPA. Nora Collins (Hopedale, Illinois), Nicole Fitch (Marengo, Illinois), Claire LaBadie (Griffith, Indiana), Lea Schmitt (Rockford, Illinois), Addie Smith (Monmouth, Illinois), Caitlyn Stewart (Monmouth, Illinois), Cally Tate (Monmouth, Illinois), Allie Warren (Galesburg, Illinois) and Addie Zamora (Arma, Kansas).

Tate and Fitch are seniors whereas Smith and LaBadie are juniors. Schmitt, Stewart and Warren are sophomores whereas Collins and Zamora are freshmen.

The swim groups are again in motion at house on Friday with Senior Night at 5 p.m. towards Millikin.

Eric Bénier-Bürckel Photography Born in Paris in 1971, Eric Bénier-Bürckel is a philosophy professor and author. He started his photographic work in 2013. His analysis, in each content material and kind, goals to query illustration, even to create unease inside it. It is primarily targeted on experimentation. “Not to record the visible, but to challenge it, to return it to the dazzling and senseless power of its appearance.” EBB “My work stems from a paradox: to creburate images, one must begin, if not by distrusting images, then at least by unlearning their obvious truths. Idol-images imprison the individual within themselves, while icon-images, on the contrary, open them up to that which transcends them. The strangeness within the image points precisely toward the outside of every image. It is this outside that, in my view, makes clichés tremble and revives the unknown they conceal. In any case, it is this outside that obsesses my photographs. Photography is therefore not, for me, a simple recording of reality; it is first and foremost a means of shaking up our domestic image of reality, composed of a patchwork of labels and stereotypes that prevent us from seeing. Photography as I practice it is neither more realistic nor surreal: it is astonishment. As for the figures that haunt my photographs, they are less established certainties than question marks that speak volumes.” the fragility of being, the stupefaction of residing.” #ericbenierburckel #pictures #photographychallenge #photographie #photooftheday #photographychallengechallengeraphychallengechallenge #photographychallengechallenge #photobooth #foto #fotografie #photographychallengeraphychallenge #photographer #blackandwhite #blackandwhitephotography
