UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Swimming and Diving teams are set to head to Princeton, N.J. to compete against the Princeton Tigers. The meet is set to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24 at DeNunzio Pool. The Princeton men’s team is ranked No. 22 in the CSCAA Top 25.

The Nittany Lions will be looking for their first win after the new yeat, after both teams fell to the University of Virginia Cavaliers in Charlottesville.

On the men’s side, Mariano Lazzerini has had a strong 2025-26 season, posting a victory in the 200 breast against Virginia. Lazzerini has broken multiple school records this season, now owning the fastest time in school history in both the 100 and 200 breast.

Seniors Cooper Morley and Matthew Bittner have also contributed to the team’s 2025-26 success, with Morley setting the school record in the 200 back, and Bittner in the 200 IM. Lazzerini, Bittner, Morley are all part of the 400 medley relay team that qualified for the NCAA Swimming Championships, along with Tylor Kim.

The women’s side has been led by Morgan Moore, Margaret Markvardt and Catherine Meisner. Moore has claimed multiple wins in the 1000 free and podium finishes in the 500 free throughout the season. Markvardt has been a consistent podium finisher, with notable wins in the 100 back against Army and 100 fly and 100 back against St. Bonventure. Markvardt also achieved multiple wins at the Estonian Nationals this past December. Meisner has consistently claimed victories and podium finishes in both the 100 and 200 free events.
