Swimming and Diving honors seniors earlier than profitable 14 relays towards MMA and UNE

LEWISTON, Maine — The Bates swimming and diving program honored their 16 seniors earlier than profitable 14 relay races in a non-scoring meet towards Maine Maritime Academy and the University of New England Friday night time at Tarbell Pool. 

Bates acknowledged seniors Lily Barisonek (New Vernon, N.J), Emma Burke (New Hartford, N.Y.), McKayla Kendall (Bangor, Maine), Lianna Rosman (Bethesda, Md.), Rachel Shwartzer (State College, Pa.), Sarah Teng (Cherry Hill, N.J.), Robert Amundson (Dublin, N.H.), Kyle Beebe (Chatham, N.J.), Max Cory (Dublin, Calif.), Lucas Gold (Rocky Hill, N.J.), Trent Hieber (Granby, Conn.), Matthew Kunkiewicz (Hillsborough, N.J.), Nate Pierce (Fairfield, Maine), Marrich Somridhivej (South Windsor, Conn.), Vova Sosnovskii (St. Petersburg, Russia), and Kailer Tom (Daly City, Calif.) earlier than the meet. 

Meet Highlights

• Sophomores Erin Barisonek (New Vernon, N.J), Elena Trundy (Bath, Maine), Taylor Rolefson (Piedmont, Calif.), and Kendall Keshen (Santa Barbara, Calif.) gained the ladies’s 200-yard medley relay in 1:50.48 because the Bobcats took the highest three spots within the race.
• Sophomore Nate Oppenheim (Easton, Conn.), junior Tim Johnson (Brewster, Mass.), junior John Weigel (Iowa City, Iowa), and junior Benjamin Wolking (Micanopy, Fla.) gained the lads’s 200-yard medley relay in 1:38.21 because the Bobcats secured the highest two spots within the race.
• Pierce, Kunkiewicz, first-year Odin Schwab (Seattle), and Beebe gained the lads’s 200-yard backstroke relay in 1:38.23 because the Bobcats took the highest two spots within the race.
• Junior Noah Katz (Hallowell, Maine), Oppenheim, Tom, and Somridhivej took the highest spot within the males’s 200-yard breaststroke relay in 1:40.49.
• Erin Barisonek, junior Sarah Palmer (Brunswick, Maine), first-year Lily Dunn (New Canaan, Conn.), and Burke teamed as much as win the ladies’s 100-yard freestyle underwater relay in 50.43 seconds because the Bobcats took the highest three spots within the race.
• Sophomore Zach White (Santa Barbara, Calif.), Weigel, sophomore Xander Theodos (Saint Louis, Mo.), and Johnson gained the lads’s 100-yard freestyle underwater relay in 41.24 seconds as Bates grabbed the highest three spots within the race.
• First-year Paige Schedler (Potomac Falls, Va.), junior Abigail Sellnow (Schenectady, N.Y.), Lily Barisonek, and junior Cora Zuwallack (East Falmouth, Mass.) gained the ladies’s 500-yard freestyle relay (50-100-150-200) in 4:55.59.
• Cory, first-year Luke Di Fabio (Halfmoon, N.Y.), Kunkiewicz, and sophomore Anton Kondratyev (Belle Mead, N.J.) gained the lads’s 500-yard freestyle relay (50-100-150-200) in 4:20.26 as Bates took the highest two spots within the race.
• First-year Amelia Tovey (Sevenoaks, England), Kendall, junior Emily Kalvaitis (Darien, Conn.), and Burke gained the ladies’s 200-yard butterfly relay in 1:48.45 as Bates grabbed the highest two spots within the race.
• Hieber, Theodos, first-year Peter Morris (Wayland, Mass.), and junior Liam Friedlander (Pittsburgh, Pa.) gained the lads’s 200-yard butterfly relay in 1:34.96 because the Bobcats took the highest three spots within the race.
• First-year Caroline Tyrrell (Acton, Mass.), Sellnow, first-year Grace Knight-Meister (Fort Collins, Colo.), and Rosman teamed as much as win the ladies’s 400-yard medley relay particular person medley in 4:22.12.
• First-year Will Trotman (Ridgefield, Conn.), Johnson, Morris, and Oppenheim teamed as much as win the lads’s 400-yard medley relay particular person medley in 3:43.17 as Bates took the highest two spots within the race.

The ladies’s swimming and diving group heads to Brunswick on Saturday for the CBB Meet, with the motion getting underway at 1 p.m. The males’s group travels to Watervile on Saturday, Feb. seventh for his or her CBB Meet, with the motion beginning at midday.
