Kelsey Elgar, University of St. Thomas, Ladies’s Swimming – Character & Community

KELSEY ELGAR OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a junior on the ladies’s swimming workforce from Beaumont, Texas, has been chosen the SCAC Character & Community Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week starting February 2.

The SCAC Character & Community award honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel within the subject of athletics, and likewise serve their campus and group.

Kelsey continues to make a significant influence on the University of St. Thomas as each a student-athlete and campus chief. A junior from Beaumont, Texas, Kelsey is a member of the Celts’ Swimming program and exemplifies the values of the SCAC Character & Community initiative via her management, service, and involvement.

In addition to competing within the pool, Kelsey is an energetic member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), the place she represents the voice of Division III student-athletes. Through SAAC, she helps evaluation laws, establish key student-athlete points, and help initiatives that promote student-athlete welfare. The committee additionally emphasizes group outreach and encourages involvement throughout campus.

At the University of St. Thomas, SAAC serves as a significant connection between student-athletes and college management, working in alignment with NCAA and SCAC tips. Kelsey’s position throughout the committee displays her dedication to enhancing the general student-athlete expertise whereas fostering a constructive and supportive athletic setting.
