NCHSAA publicizes mass adjustments to the 2026 winter sports activities schedule

On the heels of consecutive winter storms which have impacted statewide journey, the N.C. High School Athletic Assocation’s Board of Directors has made important adjustments to the winter sports activities calendar.

All state swimming and diving occasions beforehand scheduled for Wednesday–Saturday, February 4–7 shall be postponed. The competitions will now be performed Wednesday–Saturday, February 11–14.

For basketball, the Board has chosen to waive the handbook requirement (4.3.1(e)) that one of many 4 allowable video games in a two-week interval be performed on a non-school day, offering extra native scheduling flexibility. It shall be a crunch for some colleges to get in all of their scheduled basketball contests earlier than they playoffs.
