Convention Travel Funding | Villanova University

The Office of Graduate Studies encourages graduate college students within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences to use for funding to attend conferences through which they may current analysis associated to their graduate work.

Making the Request

Graduate college students who want to attend a convention to current analysis associated to their program on the University can apply for partial funding via the Graduate Dean’s Office. To apply, college students should:

• Complete the Travel Fund Request type.
• Have their mentor fill out the suitable part.
• Submit the shape to their division chairperson for completion.
• The chairperson will then ahead the shape to the Graduate Dean.

Please be aware that submitting a request doesn’t assure funding. All funding requests have to be submitted a minimum of two weeks earlier than journey and earlier than the convention takes place to be able to permit time for processing. Students are eligible for just one journey grant per fiscal yr (June 1 to May 31) based mostly on the date of the convention and never the notification of the award.

Conferences After Graduation

Travel funding will not be awarded for conferences scheduled after a pupil graduates.

Policy for Students with N Grade(s) and/or NF Grade(S)

Any pupil who submits a Student Request for Funding to the Dean’s Office and has incomplete course(s) with N grade(s) and/or course(s) with NF grade(s) on tutorial transcripts, your request might be held pending profitable completion of the course(s) with the N grade.

When the unfinished course(s) are graded (from “N” to letter grade), you will need to e mail GSDean@villanova.edu to ensure that the Dean to rethink the journey funding request.

If You’re Approved

Applicants might be notified if any funding is accessible by the Office of the Graduate Dean through e mail.  Instructions for reimbursement might be included in that e mail.

Reimbursement

If your journey bills exceed the full quantity of your journey award, we’re unable to pay you greater than what was awarded to you. 

If your journey bills are lower than the full award quantity, we are going to reimburse you for that decrease quantity moderately than the upper requested quantity.
