CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The James Madison swimmers competed on the second day of the Cavalier Invitational, hosted by the University of Virginia, on Friday contained in the Aquatic and Fitness Center.

Quoting Head Coach Dane Pedersen
“There is a multifaceted purpose for attending one session of a six-session meet: routine and format of racing, race off-events, race main events, test out possible third events, and fine tune and practice details in race suits. Everyone was doing at least one or more of these in this session and we were successful in accomplishing our goals that we put in front of us today.”

100 Butterfly

200 Freestyle

  • Junior Riley Bridgman was the highest Duke within the 200 Free, swimming a time of 1:51.30 to complete sixth.
  • Finishing in 15th place was freshman Emma Dougherty with a time of 1:56.02.

100 Breaststroke

  • Placing seventh within the 100 Breast with a time of 1:05.05 was senior Ann Chappell Ellington.
  • JMU positioned three extra swimmers within the prime 16, with Folcomer completed 10th (1:07.71), senior Riley Nugent claiming 12th (1:08.39) and Volk taking 14th (1:09.80).

100 Backstroke

  • Three Dukes completed every in locations 1-8 and 9-16.
  • Senior Sarah Pauley (55.53), freshman Emma Durham (55.69) and senior Jamie Cornwell (55.76) completed one after one other fourth by sixth.
