Kansas Swim and Dive Secures Big 12 Win Over Iowa State

AMES, Iowa – The Jayhawks earned a dominating 211 – 89 win over convention opponent, Iowa State Cyclones to shut out their common season schedule and head into the championship season. 

“Today was a challenge and the team handled the day incredibly well,” mentioned head coach Clark Campbell. “Coming off the bus and competing right away takes immense mental toughness and we were gritty from the first to last event. Jayhawks swept the rostrum within the 50-yard freestyle, with senior Caroline Blake (23.98) in first, junior Mia Waldron (24.03) in second, and Wallace (24.21) taking third.

On the boards, senior Lize van Leeuwen earned 314.40 factors for second place on the 3-meter dive. Freshman Kelly Estebo took fourth and junior Shiyun Lai positioned fifth. Lai (299.03) went on to safe first on the 1-meter dive with van Leeuwen claiming runner up in each occasions. Senior Grace Zifcak adopted in sixth.
